As a school, we are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where students can access therapy sessions when needed. The Department of Education has clear guidelines and policies on how schools should manage external services, and we are required to abide by these. We appreciate families' understanding of our role in this process.
While we aim to go beyond the minimum requirements by offering early intervention, we also have a responsibility to protect students' learning time. Our goal is to strike a balance between these priorities to ensure the best outcomes for all students.
Once all required forms are submitted, please allow up to 7-10 business days for us to review and approve or decline the request. You will receive a response via the email address provided.
No onsite appointments or visits can be scheduled until you receive an approval email.
Student Support Group Meetings
Allied Health service providers, who are approved to provide services at our school may be invited by parents to attend Student Support Group meetings. This further enhances our collaborative approach to supporting the developmental needs of our students. Student Support Group meetings are generally held mid-term. Families will be notified of specific dates at the start of each term.
Please note that organising external services to provide therapy at our school for your child requires significant time and effort. This includes scheduling, liaising with service providers, and making the necessary arrangements. As a school, we invest these resources because we recognise the importance of supporting your child's development. However, this service is not an entitlement; rather, it is something we facilitate where possible to benefit students. The school has a responsibility to uphold child safety requirements and to manage the high number of requests in a fair and balanced way.
We are committed to working with families to ensure this process is effective and sustainable. Our focus is on collaboration and discussion to determine the best support options for your child. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making these opportunities available.
